Sweet Review: Italy in Medford | Real Gusto

real gusto the sweet scene blog

Picture it, Italy, 1943…..Well, not exactly, but it very well could be, and if you got that Golden Girls reference then you’re my new bestie.

Francesca and Matteo Ronzio, natives of Italy, came to visit Boston on vacation years ago and decided to never leave. While here, they had the idea to open up a restaurant that brought a little piece of their beloved Italy to the Northeast, and I am happy they did. Thanks Francesca and Matteo!

One of my close friends has parents who are from Italy, and when they invite you over for dinner, you know to 1. not eat that day and 2. wear your stretchy pants. The Italians know how to throw down in the kitchen and at the table. Plate after plate, after meat, after pasta dish is brought out steadily as you stuff yourself with the magical flavors of the mother land.

Sweet Soul: A Balanced Life | Georgina Castellucci of @BostonGeorgina

As a verb, balance is defined as: “to keep or put (something) in a steady position so that it does not fall”. As a noun, balance is defined as: “an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.” When it comes to my new series “A Balanced Life” I have chosen a few lovely ladies to feature that I believe embody what it means to live a balanced and healthy lifestyle. These women inspire me to keep buying organically (even if it is more expensive and some people just don’t get it), to keep working out (even if it is the first time in my life I am getting fit in a healthy way) and to keep up the positive attitude and energy.

It is time for my sixth installment of this amazing series: A Balanced Life. If you have missed any of the beautiful and inspiring women in this series, simply type in “A Balanced Life” in the search bar, and all of the interviews will appear. Today’s Balanced Babe is a friend of mine who is no stranger to the Boston food and lifestyle scene, Georgina Castellucci. As humble as she is, if you’re in the Boston blogger scene, then you know who Georgina is (be one of the 15.6 thousand people who follow her, here), and if you don’t, then you are in the perfect place to get to learn a little bit more about her. I am inspired by Georgina not only for what she has accomplished professionally and in the blogging sphere, but also what she continues to overcome personally. Georgina suffers from SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), or Lupus for short (read more about her story about Lupus, here). When you meet her, smile as bright and wide as can be, you would NEVER notice that anything might be ailing her. She does not show it. She is a GIRL BOSS, and I could not wait to share her inspiring story with the rest of you guys! Continue reading for more…

We are still going strong with my series: A Balanced Life. I am happy to introduce to you my fourth Balanced Babe, Elissa Garza! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Elissa a couple of times at blogger events and each time I’ve spoken with her she was very genuine and kind. She didn’t look at me as “the new kid” on the Boston blogger scene, rather she was more than willing to answer any questions I had when it came to blogging. It is hard to come by people  you feel not only talk to you about themselves, but also are interested in what you have to say. It was a no brainer that I wanted to include Elissa in this Balanced Life Series. She is the definition of a go-getter and trend setter. If you don’t believe me, check out her blog, Style Wire; you’ll be hooked in no time. Want more inspiration from Elissa? Continue reading below!

Sweet Soul: A Balanced Life | Elizabeth Stein of Purely Elizabeth

My third Balanced Babe in this inspiring A Balanced Life Series is Elizabeth Stein, Founder and CEO of Purely Elizabeth. If you are a health foodie, or have ever been in a health food store, then I’m sure you have seen Elizabeth’s granola (and other products) up and down the aisles. Not only is she beautiful, but she inspires those around her to lead a healthful lifestyle. Just as much as she cares about helping others lead healthy lives, she cares about preserving and taking care of the environment. Purely Elizabeth donates 1% of its sales to non-profit companies who make it their mission to take care of the planet, such as: Charity Water and the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation. If that hasn’t already inspired you to get out there and do more, keep reading below to learn even more about this amazing woman!
