I felt like I hadn’t done a “Sweet Life” post in so long, so here we are, recapping my eventful past couple of weekends. Get ready for less words and more pictures of mouth watering food (all of which I recommend)!
Each week my boyfriend and I have date night at least one night. We set aside time for just each other, no phones, no basketball and no scrolling through the ‘gram. (I do get to take pictures of our food though!).
We usually browse groupon for nights out, and this past weekend we went to the newly opened, Wabora on Newbury St. I would say my boyfriend and I are sushi “snobs”, so we know good sushi when we taste it. This sushi was quickly added my top 10 list. The tuna and salmon were very fresh. I would definitely recommend it.
About 3 weeks ago my boyfriend and I moved into the city and I LOVE our new neighborhood. Just a hop, skip and a jump away is the world famous (
if it’s not, it should be!) LOCO!
Now I have to warn you, you WILL become obsessed with this place. The tacos are amazing, the drinks are to die for and the ambiance and atmosphere is exactly what a 20 to 30-something is looking for after work or on the weekend. They also have a brunch menu which I need to try ASAP, so I can’t wait for that!
I also explored my neighborhood a bit, finally got my hands on some HealthAde Kombucha (thank you Kylie Jenner). This stuff is organic, gut friendly, raw and amazing and I need all the flavors!
I also cooked a bit, made some Cauliflower Mash and some rosemary baked chicken.
It was recently Restaurant Week, or “Dine Out Boston”, around these parts, so my boyfriend and I took the opportunity to try out a restaurant that would otherwise be too depressing on our wallets. We ended up at the Oceanaire Seafood Room and let-me-tell-you!…..The decor was definitely what I expected it to be. It reminded me of a cruise ship (I’m not sure if that’s what they were going for, but that’s the first thing that came to my mind) in a good way! I felt like I was away, cruising far away with my boyfriend and the other passengers on the ship surrounded by elegance and seafood!
The food was amazing, scrumptious, decadent and any other adjective you can use to describe food that just blows your mind and tastebuds away. Lastly, the service; this is the type of place where after you take a few sips of water, the waiter fills it right back up. You don’t need to ask for anything because they are already 5 steps ahead of you.
Definitely my kind of place. Check it out!
I then got to explore my neighborhood some more and have a light and delicious brunch with my new blogger friend, Georgina of “A Noted Life”.
We ended up at Worden Hall. The weather was gorgeous, the sun was shining and the happy endorphins were floating through the air. I sat down, ordered a mimosa and Georgina and I chatted up a storm for about 30 minutes before finally ordering our meals.
The food item that stood out to me the most were the eggs. They were so light, fluffy and buttery. Sooooooooo GOOD! Just give me a full plate of those and I’m a happy girl (with a few mimosas too!)
I ended the weekend with an Instameet with some of Boston’s best food bloggers and instagrammers. We attended The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts for an awesome cooking class hosted by Salt for Life and Georgina (whom I mentioned above).
The fact that Salt for Life has 75% less sodium than regular salt and has tons of potassium (which most of us lack) is great. Head to their website to learn more and see where you can purchase some near you!
