Sweet Beauty: My Current Beauty Favorites

During the past few months I have been switching out my harmful and toxic products for cleaner, natural and organic ones. After downloading the “Think Dirty” app, making well informed purchases has been a breeze.

Below, I have included all of my current beauty products I have been enjoying lately. I can’t wait to continue exploring the different organic brands on the market!

Indie Lee: Brightening Cleanser, $32

I have been following this woman on instagram for a while and have finally gotten around to making my first Indie Lee purchase. Indie is such a passionate and inspirational woman (read here), and you can tell she puts a lot of thought and effort into her products. I purchased this brightening cleanser in order to help reduce my dark marks on my face. Not only is this an antioxidant rich brightening cleanser, it also acts as an exfoliating mask when left on for 5-10 minutes and a makeup remover; not to mention the smell is so amazing I feel like eating it every time!

Vanity Planet Spin for Perfect Skin Brush, $19.99 (groupon sale)

If you are a frequent viewer of Youtube, then I’m sure one of your favorite youtube stars has offered you one of their codes to purchase this baby at 70% off.  I stumbled across a groupon for the Spin for Perfect Skin brush at just $20 and knew I had to take advantage of the opportunity. The great thing about a mechanical brush is that the little bristles vibrate, scrubbing away dead skin and clearing dirt from your pores. This is great for my skin as it also helps reduce the dark marks on my face. The kit offered on groupon comes with the base, a soft facial brush, an exfoliating facial brush, as well as a body brush. As an added bonus, there is also a stone for rough areas like your heels or elbows.

Thayers Lemon Witch Hazel $10 and Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gelly $5

When it comes to toners, I only use Thayers. Their products are cruelty, alcohol and paraben free, along with many other important values. The current scent that I am using is this lemon and aloe vera formula. Lemon is used to brighten skin and fade dark marks, and sine I am on a mission to naturally fade these unwanted marks on my skin, I thought I’d add another brightener to my routine.

The Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gelly is a great moisturizer and back up toner. This summer I experienced my first ever sun-burn and this product was a complete life saver as it acted as a soothing ointment for my burn. It is also great for removing makeup and treating pimples (read more here).

Thesis Deodorant Spray, $16

On my journey to use only natural and organic products, the deodorant search was the hardest. I’m not one who sweats easily, but I do like to keep my pits odor free throughout the day. The first natural deodorant I used rubbed off too easily, so I had to keep searching; and that is when I came across the Thesis brand. This deodorant is paraben, aluminum and cruelty free. It can also be used as a body spray if you so choose. The scent is so strong, but in a wonderful, “running through a flower field”, kind of way. I will warn you, do not rub or scrub your armpits too hard before using this as it will burn.

Organic Bath Naked Body Scrub, $27 and Everyday Shea Body Wash, $8

In a previous Product Spotlight post, I shared my love for Organic Bath. I cannot imagine not having a body scrub in my daily beauty routine. Not only do I love the fact that my skin feels baby soft after using this product, but I also love that I’m helping the environment by using a scrub that doesn’t contain microbeads!

I bought this Everyday Shea body wash about 2 months ago and I just pumped the last bit of it. The Lavendar scent produces a calming aroma as it hits your skin and the warm water. Not only does this product last long, but it is also paraben, cruelty and antibiotic free. On top of that, it is also fair trade ceritifed (read more about the Everyday Shea initiative here).

I hope you enjoyed my current beauty favorites! As I introduce new products to my beauty routine, be sure to see more “favorites” posts on the blog. Who knows, I may even do a skincare routine video!
