Hey you….yes, you!
Firstly, I want to thank you for visiting my blog.
Here, I mostly write about food: recipes and restaurant reviews, as well as weekend recaps. My 2015 vision is to start expanding my blog and cover other aspects of my life, and that includes fitness!
If you, like me, haven’t been feeling your best physically, then this written promise will apply to your life as well.
Upset because you have a little belly pooch? a muffin top, or “thunder thighs”, well it is up to you to change all of that. No better way to make your body, mind and spirit feel amazing than by hitting the gym, and eating healthfully and surrounding yourself with inspiring and positive company.
Today, after a month of being signed up for my new gym membership (and coming up with any and every excuse in the book not to go), I finally dragged my behind to the gym. I met with an amazing trainer who listened to me blabber on and on about my fitness goals and my eating disorder and how I don’t want to be a certain number on the scale, but just want to be toned.
After my quick assessment and work out , I relaxed in the whirlpool hot-tub and then the steam room and thought of how I want my fitness life to be (and life in general) and came up with this promise:
I, Janelle, promise to love myself, flaws and all.
I promise to treat my body with the utmost respect with what I put inside of it (and outside of it) and by my thoughts and actions.
I promise to remind myself that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and there is no one like me.
Comparison is the thief of all joy, and I refuse to compare my body or successes to anyone else’s.
From this day forward I take full responsibility for my wellness: mind, body and soul.
I will put out into the atmosphere positive thoughts and cut off negative people and things.
I am on a journey of wellness and complete happiness.
Question of the day: What are your fitness goals/promises?
